Static Display at Belfast City Hall
30th March 2013
As part of Belfast City Council's 400th anniversary of the 1613 charter which granted Belfast town status, they asked the Bambridge Old Vehicle Club (BOVC) to organise a static display in the grounds of the City Hallon Easter Saturday and Sunday.
Richard Gregory, Vice Chairman of the Bambridge Club kindly invited a few members of our club to bring along their cars on Easter Sunday. This was on a invitation only due to the lack of space. (Max 10 cars only)
The day was bright and sunny, moderately warm when you where sheltered from the cold wind.
The City Hall was open for tourists and locals alike and various other intertainment was laid on in the City Hall Grounds. There was an exhibition of Titanic Memorabilia to be autioned off in a few weeks time. Although not part of the auction items the Violin recovered form the Titanic was also on display. With various other displays form the early days of industrial Belfast it really was worth the walk around. It was, although a bit nippy in the wind, an enjoyable day out.
